Job summary

Labcorp in Maryville, IL is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our team. You will perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques, collect specimens for testing, and provide courteous patient service in a clinical setting.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, plus phlebotomy certification or training; 1 year of phlebotomy experience is preferred. You may travel to additional sites and must meet color vision and other standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; phlebotomy cert or accredited training, or 3+ months experience.
• Preferred: 1+ year phlebotomy experience.
• Certification/training may substitute work experience per standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary methods for all ages.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, tests and other analyses.
• Enter patient information accurately and promptly in the system.
• Process billing information and collect payments as needed.
• Prepare specimens for testing and maintain logs with accuracy.
• Provide courteous customer service to patients.
• Handle administrative duties and travel to other sites as required.

Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our team Maryville, IL

Work Schedule

Monday - Friday 7:00am - 1:00pm and rotating Saturdays

Job Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
• Process billing information and collect payments as necessary
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs
• Provide superior customer service to all patients
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary
• Travel to additional sites when needed

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent Phlebotomy certification or completed training program or 3 months or more experience as a phlebotomist

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 year or more of phlebotomy experience

Additional Job Standards

• In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency
• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision
• Reliable transportation
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test

In this role you will provide exceptional customer service, perform skilled specimen collections and be the face of the company. Phlebotomist’s may be eligible for participation in the PST Incentive Plan, which pays a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics.
