Job summary

CSN seeks part-time instructors to teach PHIL 101 and PHIL 102 through the Jumpstart Program at a Clark County School District high school.

Applicants must be pre-approved by the Social Sciences department and the Office of Dual Credit & Early College Programming. A Master’s degree in Philosophy is required for PHIL 101, or PHIL 102 with a law degree, plus 18 graduate credits in the subject.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be pre-approved by the Social Sciences department, Office of Dual Credit & Early College Programming, and Jumpstart Program before submitting an application in Workday.
• PHIL 101 requires a Master’s degree in Philosophy.
• PHIL 102 requires a Master’s degree in Philosophy or a law degree.
• Transferable Courses: 18 graduate credits in the subject being taught from an accredited college or university.

Responsibilities

• Teach PHIL 101 Introduction to Philosophy and PHIL 102 Introduction to Critical Thinking.
• Deliver course content to high school students through the CSN Jumpstart program at a CCSD high school.
• Complete required pre-approval process and documentation as part of the application process.
