Southwest Tennessee Community College seeks an adjunct philosophy instructor for a part-time pool. Pay is $640 per credit hour. Applications reviewed as openings arise; future terms may include fall, spring and summer.

Responsibilities include planning, presenting and evaluating classroom instruction across college campuses, advising students, and participating in college committees and professional activities. Candidates should upload required documents when applying.

Qualificações

• Master’s degree in the teaching discipline or master’s degree in another discipline with 18 hours of graduate work in the teaching discipline.
• Minimum two (2) years teaching experience in higher education or one (1) year teaching experience and three (3) years employment in the field.

Responsabilidades

• Prepares and delivers instruction on topics in Philosophy.
• Compiles, administers, evaluates and grades students' work and informs progress.
• Develops curricula and instructional material like syllabi and homework.
• Maintains office hours for student advisory and recruitment.
• Keeps attendance records, grades and FERPA compliant records.
• Attends faculty meetings and professional development activities.
• Keeps updated on field developments and participates in conferences.
• Participates in committees and outreach to the community.
• May perform other duties as assigned by Department Head/Dean.
