Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Part-Time Pharmacist - Brooklyn.
In this role, the successful candidate is responsible for safely preparing, compounding, and dispensing medications to patients in accordance with laws and regulations governed by the NYS Board of Pharmacy and Lutheran Medical Center pharmacy policies and procedures.
The pharmacist will optimize drug therapy by identifying, resolving, and preventing drug-related problems to improve therapeutic outcomes.
Work independently within established pharmacy policies and procedures as part of the inpatient care team.
Direct and coordinate activities in a pharmacy service area.
Supervise staff and support personnel within pharmacy policies, procedures, and regulations.
Assignments include covering satellite pharmacy, preparing IV products, distributing controlled substances, and providing drug information.
All pharmacists should be knowledgeable about the safe management and handling of hazardous medications stored and dispensed.
Job Responsibilities:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctorate of Pharmacy from an accredited institution. Must be licensed in NY, in good standing. Board Certification is highly desirable. Completion of safety, OSHA, infection control, and other mandatory training. Active NY pharmacy license required.
Required Licenses: Pharmacist License-NYS
Qualified candidates must effectively communicate at all organizational levels.
