Description

Part-time Personal Care Assistant for the 2025-2026 school year. These positions work 5.5 hours/day, up to 186 days/year. Working hours are based on the needs of the student and could change. These positions are year-to-year positions based on the needs of the student.

The current position is located at:

1. Stewartstown Elementary School, tentatively working 9:15 am - 3:15 pm, which includes a 1/2 hour unpaid lunch

Other positions could open during the summer months.

Salary Range

Range III, beginning at $15.25 per hour, with the wage determined based on experience. The position works up to 181 student days plus up to three additional paid staff development days and two paid holidays (Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day). It qualifies for participation in the PA School Employee Retirement System. Paid sick, personal, and bereavement days are available annually.

Job Summary

Provide daily assistance to students on a one-to-one basis, typically guided by an IEP, Section 504 Agreement, or other written plan, under the direction of the administration and/or classroom teacher.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required. Must possess positive communication and organizational skills and the ability to work with students and staff. Paraprofessionals must complete the process to be deemed "Highly Qualified" or possess the equivalent of an associate degree in college credits.
