Job summary

As a peer mentor, you will help students persist, build academic skills, and navigate campus resources. Training is provided, and you will work with a coordinator to shape your schedule and impact.

Qualifications

• Be in good academic standing at NSCC or demonstrated strong academic/professional performance.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment on NSCC's campuses.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Willingness to work remotely if needed with reliable internet access.

Responsibilities

• Attend required training sessions and team meetings throughout the semester.
• Build connections with assigned students via check-ins and multiple platforms (phone, email, chats, Zoom).
• Assist students with time management, study skills, and academic technologies.
• Foster a supportive, non-judgmental environment for mentees to share challenges and aspirations.
• Track conversations and interventions in Navigate or other systems; maintain FERPA/HIPAA compliance as needed.
