Job summary

ProCare Therapy seeks a part-time school nurse to provide essential nursing care for a PreK student in a local Indianapolis area school. The role involves Tue/Thu sessions from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. with potential to add a full-day Wednesday slot in the same school, July 29 through May 27.

The nurse will monitor vitals, assist with oxygen as needed, and perform suctioning, while collaborating with educators and families to ensure safe, confidential care throughout the academic year.

Qualifications

• Active RN or LPN/LVN license in Indiana.
• Pediatric, school, or healthcare experience preferred.
• Experience with children with medical complexities (oxygen support, suctioning).
• Ability to use sound clinical judgment while collaborating with educators and parents.
• Strong communication, organization, and adaptability skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one nursing care for a PreK student in a wheelchair.
• Monitor vital signs and administer oxygen as needed; perform suctioning.
• Create a supportive and safe atmosphere within the school setting.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams; communicate with family members.
• Maintain accurate documentation of care and any incidents or concerns.
• Uphold confidentiality and health protocols throughout the school year.
