Job summary

The Village for Families & Children in Hartford, CT is seeking an entry level Registered Nurse to join the Urgent Crisis Center team. You will provide safety, assessments, and medication administration to youth in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment, collaborating with a multidisciplinary care team.

The role requires an Associate degree in Nursing (Bachelor’s preferred) with CPR certification, and experience in pediatric behavioral health is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred; Associate degree in nursing required.
• CPR certification.
• Experience in behavioral health and caring for children/adolescents.

Responsibilities

• Conduct nursing assessments, interventions, and treatments.
• Monitor signs and symptoms of physical and mental health stabilization.
• Conduct nursing intakes and discharges.
• Collaborate with team on disposition planning.
• Active participation in rounds and multidisciplinary team meetings.
• Ensure documentation meets regulatory requirements (DCF/DPH/Joint Commission).
• Monitor medications for efficacy and adverse effects.
• Develop care plans and coordinate with psychiatrists.
• Provide education and teaching to clients and families.
