Job summary

CTC Academy in Fair Lawn, NJ seeks a part-time Teacher of Physical Education and Health to support students with complex developmental disabilities. The role offers about 20 hours per week with a flexible 11-month schedule, on-site at the Fair Lawn Campus.

Certification by the New Jersey Department of Education is required. The ideal candidate will differentiate instruction, integrate assistive technology, and collaborate with staff and families to foster healthy lifestyle skills and inclusive

Qualifications

• NJ Department of Education Teacher of Physical Education and Health Certification required.
• Experience with students with complex developmental disabilities preferred but not required.
• Ability to work part-time with a flexible 11-month schedule.

Responsibilities

• Implement a high-quality physical education and health curriculum for students with complex developmental disabilities.
• Foster the development of skills needed for participation in sports, fitness and a healthy lifestyle.
• Differentiate instruction to fulfill each child’s IEP.
• Utilize a wide variety of assistive technology to meet the diverse instructional needs of students.
• Collaborate with professional staff using a team approach.
• Provide supervision, guidance, and assistance to classroom aides, one-to-one nurses, and volunteers.
• Work closely with families on behalf of the students.
