Base pay range

$20.00/hr - $25.00/hr

Harrison Township is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented individual for the role of Part-Time Payroll Clerk. This position plays a key role in supporting payroll operations, assisting with new employee onboarding, and providing customer service to township employees regarding payroll-related matters. The position may also assist with accounts payable from time to time.The Payroll Clerk will work closely with the Human Resources Manager and collaborate across departments to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

Schedule: Approximately 20 hours per week

Location: Harrison Township Government Center

Pay Range: $20.00 – $25.00/hour, based on experience

Responsibilities Include:

  • Process bi-weekly payroll, including verifying timesheets, calculating pay, and managing deductions.
  • Assist with onboarding of new employees by helping with payroll setup and benefits.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, benefits, and deductions.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential payroll records.
  • Coordinate payroll activities with HR functions to ensure compliance and efficiency.
  • From time to time, assist with accounts payable functions and coordination with the accounts payable clerk.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with payroll and onboarding functions, especially in a public-sector or municipal environment.
  • Familiarity with payroll software and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of the Ohio Revised Code related to township employment practices is beneficial.
