Job summary

A.L.C. in Los Angeles seeks an experienced Pattern Maker to translate design sketches into production-ready patterns for contemporary womenswear.

You will bridge creative design intent with production feasibility, ensuring fit, quality, and consistency across categories. The ideal candidate has 5+ years pattern making in womenswear, strong knowledge of garment construction, draping, and flat pattern making, with a Bachelor’s in Fashion Design or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years pattern making in contemporary womenswear; 10–15 years preferred.
• Deep understanding of garment construction, draping, and flat pattern making.
• Proficient in marking patterns for placement prints and embellishments; fabric shrinkage-aware.
• Expert-level Gerber skills; strong Excel/Office use; Illustrator is a plus.
• Aligns with A.L.C.’s sophisticated aesthetic and strong team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Pattern development across tailoring, outerwear, and daytime sportswear.
• Collaborate with Design and Technical Design to interpret sketches and specs.
• Participate in live fit sessions and apply adjustments for approved fit.
• Ensure patterns are production-ready with notes, grain lines, and notches.
• Troubleshoot construction issues and advise on simplification options.
