Indiana University Health Lafayette is seeking a Part-Time Day shift Patient Care Assistant to support the patient care team. The role blends direct patient care with unit clerical duties, ensuring a clean, safe environment and assisting physicians, patients, families and vendors as needed.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED, CPR/BLS certification, and completion of the IU Health PCA education program or equivalent acute care experience.

Qualificações

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Basic Life Support certification (CPR/BLS) is required or to be completed during training.
• IU Health PCA education program or comparable acute patient care experience.

Responsabilidades

• Provide a combination of direct patient care and unit clerical duties for the department.
• Administer care to designated patients under the direction of a Clinical Nurse and support the patient care team.
• Maintain a clean, orderly environment and provide information and directions to physicians, patients, families, customers and vendors.
• Schedule tests/procedures, maintain patient records, and sign patients in/out of the unit.
• Handle ordering, receiving and delivering equipment and supplies for the patient care team.
• Provide continuous observation including suicide prevention when required.
