Job summary

UF Health Shands Homecare in Gainesville, FL is seeking a Part-time Patient Care Assistant to support registered nurses by performing routine procedures under supervision and helping ensure high-quality patient care. Candidates may hold EMT/Paramedic licensure, CNA with HS diploma and 1 year of experience, or be a nursing student enrolled in an approved program.

CNAs awaiting NCLEX within 90 days, or those who failed NCLEX previously, may qualify.

Qualifications

• Education: EMT or Paramedic; or CNA with HS diploma or equivalent with one year patient care experience preferred; or nursing student in approved program for RN/LPN prep; or NCLEX status for employees awaiting to test (up to 90 days post-grad) or after initial NCLEX failure (up to 6 months); or CNA training student with instructor recommendation.
• Motor Vehicle Operator: Frequent driver definition applies but not required for this role.
• Licensure/Certification/Registration: CNA certification required for those not currently enrolled in or recently graduated from nursing program.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing support under RN supervision.
• Performs routine procedures and assists with patient care to support compassionate, high-quality care.
