Job summary

Driscoll Children’s Hospital in Corpus Christi, TX is seeking a Part-time Pathologists’ Assistant for 20-35 hours weekly, 2nd shift with shift differential. Must hold PA-ASCP certification and a valid driver’s license. Bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s degree and two years of experience preferred.

Responsibilities include gross examinations, autopsy support, specimen accessioning, and collaboration with the pathology team. Occasional on-call and travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Accessions tissue and body fluids from procedures.
• Performs gross examinations of tissue and body fluids.
• Provides support for frozen sections, FNA, and biopsies.
• Performs autopsies under pathologist supervision.
• Ensures safe handling of specimens and compliance with safety policies.
• Gathers clinical histories and submits representative sections for review.
