Job summary

The City of Port Arthur is seeking a Part-Time Transit Operator to provide safe public transportation, assist elderly and disabled riders, and support the Transportation Division. Applicants must have one year of related experience, a high school diploma or GED, and a Texas Class B CDL with a passenger endorsement.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform daily pre-operation inspections and preventative maintenance of assigned vehicle.
• Collect transfers and fares from riders; count and record revenues.
• Prepare and return passenger and vehicle usage forms and logs.
• Answer questions about routes, fares, schedules and services; operate intercom.
• Operate a two-way radio and coordinate with dispatchers.
