Job summary

St. Michael Academy is seeking a Paraprofessional (Asst. Teacher) for PK 3. This part-time position reports to the Director and supports lead teachers in delivering a nurturing educational environment. The role includes health checks, planning activities, and parent communications.

Hours are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday morning shifts, totaling 4.5 hours per day. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and be prepared to complete required trainings and certifications.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of child growth and development for birth to 5 years.
• Familiarity with safety and abuse reporting procedures.
• Must pass criminal background check prior to employment and every five years; PGC workshop prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities.
• Plan daily lesson plans and activities based on curriculum.
• Maintain health, safety, and sanitation standards; conduct health checks.
• Attend parent meetings and communicate progress to parents.
• Participate in professional development trainings; 35 annual in-service hours.
