Job summary

Montgomery County Public Schools seeks a part-time paraeducator at White Oak Middle School in Silver Spring to support students with IEPs and assist in general and specialized instructional settings.

The role involves classroom support, behavior monitoring, and collaboration with teachers. Must have an Associate degree (Bachelor’s preferred) and may require ParaPro or equivalent credentials. Title I school experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of child development, instructional strategies and policies.
• Ability to assist with instructional program implementation and behavior monitoring.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to read/write/speak English.
• Ability to support students with special needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and implementing instructional activities.
• Provide classroom management supports and clerical tasks.
• Support teachers and other staff in various classrooms or settings.
