Job summary

Juneau School District is seeking a paraeducator to support students at Glacier Valley Elementary. The role involves presenting instructional material and activities to boost reading, writing, math, and basic computer skills, working alone or in small groups, and recording progress.

The requirements include a High School diploma, some experience with school-age children, CPR/First Aid if required, and either an AA degree or 48 semester hours or willingness to pass the WorkKeys Exam.

Qualifications

• High School diploma.
• Some prior experience working with school age children preferred.
• CPR, first aid and district approved behavioral management techniques may be required.
• Must have either an AA degree, or 48 semester hours, or be willing to take and pass the WorkKeys Exam (support available).

Responsibilities

• Present material and activities to improve skills in reading, writing, math, computers and/or vocational education.
• Work individually or in small groups.
• Record grades and other measures of students' progress and behavior.
