The Toledo Zoo & Aquarium is seeking a part-time Snooze Programmer to deliver educational programming in the Education Department, focusing on overnight and scout programs. You will serve as the primary facilitator and help write curricula for various program areas.

The role requires experience in informal education settings and a background in animal sciences or related fields; a valid driver’s license and First Aid/CPR are preferred, with background checks required.

Qualifications

  • Up to 2 years of completed college coursework with experience leading classrooms or teaching in an informal education setting preferred.
  • Background and experience in animal sciences, education, environmental or natural sciences a plus.
  • Must be 21+ years of age or older
  • Must have a valid drivers’ license and be insurable by the fleet insurance carrier.
  • First Aid/CPR certification preferred.
  • Pre-employment screening and background check are required.
  • The Toledo Zoo is a drug-free workplace, including marijuana.

Responsibilities

  • This role is responsible for delivering programming in the Toledo Zoo’s Education Department with primary focus on overnight and scout programs.
  • This includes serving as primary facilitator.
  • Other tasks include writing curriculum for program areas, performing animal demonstrations, utilizing various types of equipment and machinery including computer, telephone, radio, vehicles, copier, laminator and general office supplies and other duties as assigned.
