Job summary

YMCA of Greater Richmond is seeking an Outreach Program Associate to support community-centered learning programs at the Tuckahoe Family YMCA. The role emphasizes building authentic relationships, coordinating logistics, and supervising volunteers to create a safe, engaging environment for youth and families.

Experience in ESL contexts is a plus; multilingual candidates are encouraged to apply. The position is part-time, with evening and weekend commitments as needed to support program delivery.

Qualifications

• A minimum of one year related experience is required.
• Must be self-motivated, organized, and possess strong oral and written communication skills, problem solving, and multi-tasking abilities.
• Experience with computers and customer service preferred.
• Must be willing to work on projects with varying programming and reporting requirements.
• Some evening and weekend work is required.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain positive, authentic relationships with program participants, community members, staff, and community partners.
• Ensure logistics of programming are appropriately prepared and organized.
• Create a safe and productive learning environment for participants.
• Communicate with parents and caregivers of youth involved in programs.
• Train and supervise volunteers during programming.
