Job summary

Barnes-Jewish Hospital, part of BJC HealthCare, is seeking an outpatient registered nurse for a part-time, weekday schedule. Shifts run 8:00 am–4:30 pm, three times weekly, with no weekends, no on-call requirements.

The role emphasizes patient-centered care within ambulatory services and multidisciplinary collaboration. Ideal candidates hold a nursing diploma or an associate's degree, with RN licensure and at least 1 year of RN experience; BSN/MSN preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Educates patients and families on illness management, home care, and medications.
• Promotes patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance; participates in professional development.
• Develops and documents care plans with the interprofessional team and communicates plans across care continuum.
• Assesses patient needs and preferences across physical, psychosocial, emotional, cultural, and population-specific factors.
