Job summary

MercyOne North Iowa Cancer Center is seeking an Outpatient Specialty Registered Nurse to join our team. You will deliver high-quality oncology/hematology nursing care, guided by our professional standards and patient education goals.

The role focuses on providing compassionate, evidence-based care in the outpatient setting. This PRN, day-shift position requires current Iowa RN licensure, an Associate Degree in Nursing, and completion of ONS courses with certification preferred.

Qualifications

Current RN license in Iowa.
Associate Degree in Nursing or graduate from an RN program required.
Must complete Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) courses: Cancer Basics and Chemotherapy Biotherapy: Fundamentals of Administration after 9 months of employment, must successfully complete the ONS/ONCC.
Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Certificate course, and renew every 2 years.
Strongly preferred OCN certification within 2 years of employment.

Responsibilities

Directs and guides patient education.
Cares for oncology/hematology and related patients.
Practices nursing within MercyOne North Iowa Cancer Center clinical nursing practice plan.
Collaborates with inter-disciplinary health care team to achieve patient care outcomes.
Promotes safety, process improvement, and positive working relationships within the department.
