Job summary

Advocate Health in Aurora is seeking a part-time Oncology Nurse to provide ongoing patient care using the nursing process, including teaching, symptom management, and coordination of resources.

The role requires oncology experience; schedule is Mon–Thu 09:00–16:00 with no weekend or holiday shifts. Benefits eligible and pay range is $35.50–$53.25 per hour, with occasional floating to other cancer clinics for support.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse license issued by the state.
• Associate's Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers certified within 6 months.
• ONC/ONCC certification preferred for oncology, CRNI for non‑chem infusion.
• Typical experience: 2 years in a clinical setting including the specialty.
• Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess educational needs and provide teaching and counseling to patients and family.
• Coordinate care and resources, including navigation and social work.
• Administer medications in infusion center as assigned.
• Perform central venous access device management per policy.
• Provide telephone triage and care coordination per protocol.
• Update and revise care plans; communicate with physicians regularly.
• Support department governance activities and share knowledge with team.
