Position Overview
Position Status: Part‑time, Hourly Rate: $15/hr. Location: 1212 Applegate Lane, Clarksville, IN47129.
Key Responsibilities
- Cashiering, running and rotating retail bins, moving furniture, sorting recyclables, accepting donations, and providing a high level of customer service.
- Front‑of‑house duties: ring customer orders, maintain a balanced drawer, follow all cash‑handling procedures; provide general information about Goodwill programs; direct higher‑level questions to the appropriate associate or manager; maintain sales‑floor cleanliness; move properly priced and tagged furniture to the sales floor, arrange it orderly; assist with customer furniture carry‑out requests; assist with the rotation of commodity bins and sort items accordingly; exhibit a willingness to cross‑train in various outlet functions.
- Back‑of‑house duties: sort and separate recyclable items from salvaged items and place them in appropriate containers; pull full commodity bins to the staging area and set up and label commodity bins; meet all designated daily production/quality quotas and update production sheets; ensure personal and confidential materials have been removed from donated items; notify leadership when money, credit cards, weapons or questionable objects are found; accept donations from customers, maintain a clean donation door and educate customers on Goodwill promotions, including the rewards program; quickly and accurately sort products and distribute them to appropriate areas; maintain an efficient working area by keeping the backroom clean and organized; keep area swept and clear of spills; load and unload trucks as needed and regularly use heavy equipment (pallet jack, double stacker, floor scrubber, tipper, baler, hydraulic lift).
Required Competencies
- Knowledge of Warehouse Processes: familiarity with receiving, putaway, storage, picking, packing and shipping; experience using pallet jack, double stacker, baler and/or tipper.
- Communication Skills: articulate thoughts and express ideas effectively using oral, written, visual and non‑verbal communication skills; active listening.
- Customer Focus: ability to see, comprehend and relate with customers impartially, maintain customer satisfaction; provide excellent service to internal and external customers.
- Mathematical Aptitude: performs basic arithmetic with American money and weight, volume and distance measurements.
- Reasoning Ability: applies common sense to carry out instructions; handles problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Preferred Competencies
- Technical Knowledge: familiarity with computers, basic Internet navigation and relevant software.
