Job summary

UPMC Orthopedics in Erie, PA, is hiring a Part-Time Diagnostic Technologist to join a busy orthopedic surgery practice. The role performs imaging procedures at a technical level with supervision as needed and offers weekday daytime hours (24 per week) with no evenings, weekends, or holidays.

Responsibilities include patient identification, reviewing orders, administering contrast as required, proper coding in RIS, and archiving in ISITE.

Qualifications

• ARRT registry eligible as Radiologic Technologist; must obtain registry within 6–12 months depending on location.
• CPR/BLS required; training per AHA standards.
• Graduate of ARRT approved Radiologic Technology program or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Identifies patients with two identifiers and reviews orders; documents history.
• Administers PO and rectal contrast per orders.
• Ensures exams are coded in RIS and archived to ISITE; verifies charges.
• Performs radiography procedures per established protocols without constant supervision.
• Operates imaging equipment to acquire and document data per protocol.
• Communicates clearly with patients and staff; demonstrates caring and respect.
• Adjusts protocols with independent judgment for diagnostic radiography as needed.
• Explains procedures to patients to reduce anxiety and gain cooperation.
