Job summary

America's Best, part of National Vision, is seeking an Optometric Technician - Medical Assistant for a part-time position. The role supports the optometrist with pre-screenings and testing to ensure smooth patient flow. Training is provided, and prior optical experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced setting.

• Willingness to learn optical terminology and testing procedures.
• Previous retail/optical experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-screenings and testing prior to the Doctor’s examination.
• Assist the optometrist and maintain efficient patient flow.
• Explain preliminary examinations to patients and obtain necessary paperwork.
• Promote and conduct visual field testing and retinal screenings where appropriate.
• Ensure equipment is properly maintained and clean.
• Review patient prescriptions and information for accuracy; consult when needed.
