Job summary

DocTrials seeks a detail-oriented Optician to support ophthalmic clinical trials in Chandler, AZ. This part-time role requires accurate refraction and visual acuity assessments, with tasks including certification maintenance and safety monitoring for research participants.

Training will be provided for protocol-specific requirements, and local travel may occur. You will join a small clinical research team, collaborating with coordinators and investigators to ensure data integrity and patient

Qualifications

• Licensed Optician with ABO certification preferred.
• Strong understanding of optical dispensing and lens types.
• Familiar with refraction principles and Snellen/ETDRS measurements.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Comfortable working with patients in a clinical trial setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform protocol-required ophthalmic assessments including refraction and visual acuity.
• Maintain certifications and ensure compliance with study standards and IRB requirements.
• Provide compassionate patient care and monitor for adverse events.
• Collaborate with the research team for accurate source documentation and data entry.
• Adapt schedule to study visit timings and patient appointments.
