Job summary

DocTrials is seeking an experienced Optician for a part-time role to support ophthalmic clinical trials at our research sites in the US. You will perform refraction and visual acuity assessments, maintain study certifications, and ensure patient safety and data accuracy.

Applicants should be licensed or experienced Opticians with ABO certification preferred and a strong background in optical dispensing, lens types, and frame adjustments.

Qualifications

• Licensed or experienced Optician with ABO certification preferred.
• Strong understanding of optical dispensing, lens types, and frame adjustments.
• Familiar with refraction principles and visual acuity measurement (Snellen, ETDRS).
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Comfortable working with patients in a clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform protocol-required ophthalmic assessments, including refraction and visual acuity, per protocol and GCP guidelines.
• Obtain and maintain all required study certifications (e.g., visual acuity, refraction, imaging).
• Provide compassionate, professional care to research participants and monitor adverse events.
• Collaborate with the clinical research team to ensure efficient clinic flow, source documentation, and timely data entry.
• Availability to come in based on study visit schedules.
