Job summary

Kids for the Future is hiring an Optician in Training for a part-time role at our Martinsville location. You’ll work 25-30 hours per week, learn eyewear basics, and grow into a professional optician with our training program.

No prior optical experience is required; we’ll teach you everything you need to know. You’ll gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, people-focused environment and have the chance to advance with certifications and wage increases.

Responsibilities

• Guide patients in selecting eyewear that fits their face, lifestyle, and needs.
• Educate patients on lens options and eyewear care.
• Manage front-desk tasks like insurance verification and scheduling.
• Place and process eyewear orders and troubleshoot issues.
• Make minor repairs for proper fit.
• Build lasting relationships with patients.
• Complete training and grow through certifications.
• Travel to support other locations if needed.
