Job summary

Eyemart Express in Appleton, WI is seeking an Optical Retail Sales Associate (Part Time) to help patients choose frames, lenses, and coatings, and to ensure accurate prescription details for the lab. You will assist with measurements, explain options, and dispense finished glasses, while delivering friendly service and maintaining HIPAA-compliant patient files.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and retail or sales experience; optical industry experience is a plus, with training

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience working in retail, customer service, or sales.
• Experience working in the optical industry is preferred but not required. We are willing to train.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service to all patients.
• Maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions as well as policies regarding payment, returns, and exchanges.
• Compute and process payment transactions/refunds using the in-house Point of Sale system.
• Process insurance claims efficiently.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of products.
• Create and maintain patient files, following company and HIPAA policies regarding confidentiality.
• Assess and interpret patient needs based on prescription requirements, features, lifestyle, and occupation, and suggest appropriate products.
• Take necessary measurements (e.g., pupillary distance).
• Prepare work orders for the lab with all pertinent information.
• Pull correct lenses according to work order specifications.
• Inspect final product for accuracy; adjust glasses to fit the patient as needed.
• Adjust/repair damaged frames, replace nose pads and screws.
• Price, stock, and straighten merchandise.
