Job summary

Transdev in Vacaville, CA, is seeking a Part-Time Operator with a valid CDL to drive and transport passengers safely and professionally. The role offers union pay through the CBA, starting at $18.00 per hour with progression to $29.50 over five years, plus CA Sick Leave after probation and holiday benefits.

Responsibilities include following routes, assisting passengers, conducting pre- and post-trip inspections, and enforcing safety protocols.

Qualifications

We are currently on the lookout for an experienced Bus Driver to join our elite team in Vacaville, CA . As a key member, you will be entrusted with ensuring safe and comfortable transportation for our passengers, while upholding the highest standards of professionalism and customer service.

CBA Position: Part-Time

Position Subject to Collective Bargaining Agreement:

• $18.00 per hour starting pay (Union Collective Bargaining Agreement Pay Rate)


• Starting pay $18.00 with progression to $29.50 over 5 years period.

Part-Time Benefits:

• 40 hours CA Sick (after 90-day Probation)


• Holidays- 8 days-6 Regular-1 Floating-1 Birthday

Key Responsibilities:

• Safety-Focused Operations: Execute flawless operations by meticulously following designated routes and schedules, while adhering to stringent safety protocols and traffic regulations.


• Passenger Care: Exhibit exceptional care and assistance towards passengers, ensuring smooth boarding, comfortable rides, and timely disembarkation for all.


• Vehicle Vigilance: Champion vehicle safety through comprehensive pre-trip and post-trip inspections, promptly reporting any maintenance issues, and maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and safety equipment readiness.


• Adherence to Protocols: Uphold company policies and procedures rigorously, encompassing seat belt enforcement, emergency response preparedness, and compliance with regulatory mandates.


• Other duties as required

Qualifications:

• VALID CDL REQUIRED


• Excellent communication & customer service skills.


• Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.


• Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorise the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.

Physical Requirements:

The essential functions of this position require the ability to:

• Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions-100% of the job is performed outside, work alone and in remote locations.


• Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces


• Push and pull objects up to 50 pounds, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level


• Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noise.
