Job description

Summary

ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an immediate opening for Part‑Time Operations Staff at NRG Park in Houston, Texas. The role involves cleaning, maintaining, setting up, and tearing down equipment to prepare for events at the venue. The position requires heavy lifting, physical exertion, and adherence to client and facility rules.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Participate in all aspects of the conversion process in preparation for events.
  • Set up and tear down flooring, portable chairs, operable airwalls, stage barricades, staging, bike racks, turnstiles, tables, and other furnishings and equipment.
  • Perform loading/unloading of delivery trucks and transport trash and waste to disposal areas.
  • Assist with pre‑ and post‑event cleaning of operational equipment, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, vacuuming, spot cleaning, and washing.
  • Perform repairs and maintenance tasks on equipment such as tables, chairs, staging, stage barricades, stage stairs, bike racks, and retractable seating.
  • Report irregularities, discrepancies, damage to equipment and property, loss of property and equipment, and safety concerns promptly to supervisor, manager, and director.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Ability to perform manual labor for extended periods, often under unfavorable weather conditions.
  • Adherence to strict deadlines and capable of working under pressure.
  • Knowledge of event set‑up and conversion practices, cleaning techniques, and proper use of hand power tools.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written, and the ability to follow instructions and collaborate with clients, employees, exhibitors, and patrons.
  • Compliance with facility policies, risk‑management, safety precautions, rules, regulations, and emergency procedures.
  • Experience or training in forklift operation (preferred).
  • Organizational skills to prioritize work from event overviews and task lists.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing situations.
  • Availability to work long and irregular hours, including day, evening, weekends, and holidays.
  • High School diploma or GED and one to three months of related experience, or equivalent education and experience.
Other Qualifications

Licensed to operate a motor vehicle in the United States is preferred. Ability to train on and operate a sit‑down forklift is preferred.

Physical Demands

Regular movement around the facility, standing for 8–10 hours a day, lifting weights up to 75lbs, climbing, stretching, and reaching are required. The position may involve work inside or outside the building as needed by events.
