Lackawanna College is seeking an Adjunct Instructor in Philosophy to teach Fall 2026 courses. The candidate will prepare and deliver lessons in a classroom or TEAMS setting, adapt to diverse learners, and guide students toward successful learning outcomes.

Prior teaching in higher education is encouraged, with LMS proficiency required. Required: Bachelor's degree with 18 philosophy credits; Master’s degree preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required with at least 18 credits in philosophy (ethics, morality, metaphysics, etc.).
• Master's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares lesson plans and teaches in classroom or virtual (TEAMS) setting.
• Thoroughly prepares all course lessons for diverse learners and current trends.
• Provides guidance to students to optimize learning outcomes.
• Completes required documentation: syllabi, grades, attendance, and SLO reflections.
• Maintains a professional classroom environment and fosters critical thinking.
• Applies material to practical contexts to reinforce learning.
• Supports Dean with other duties as needed.
