Lackawanna College is seeking an adjunct instructor to teach philosophy for Fall 2026, delivering courses in classroom and Teams-based settings. The role requires preparing lesson plans, teaching all course topics, and guiding diverse learners to achieve learning objectives.
Qualified candidates will have a bachelor’s in philosophy with 18 credits in the subject, and a master’s degree is preferred. Prior higher education teaching and LMS experience are advantageous.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND OBJECTIVES:
Adjunct instructors are part-time faculty hired to teach a specified course/s on a per-semester basis. The opportunity to continue teaching at the college is assessed every semester, and criteria for re-employment include: Attention to administrative deadlines (i.e., setting up course prior to semester start, grading student work, tracking attendance), timely and professional communication with students and colleagues, and students’ course/instructor evaluations.
