Job summary

Virtua Health in South Jersey is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide treatment, care, and management of patients with cardio-respiratory deficiencies. The position is on-site, part-time, with day shifts and 24 hours weekly.

Responsibilities include patient assessments, developing care plans, administering treatments, ventilator care, blood gas lab procedures, and educating patients and families. Requires RRT/CRT trajectory and New Jersey licensure; BLS/ACLS required.

Qualifications

• RRT/new graduates accepted.
• CRT with 10 years of experience; those with less than 10 years must earn RRT within 1 year.
• Graduate of AMA approved Respiratory Care program.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient assessments and develops individualized respiratory care plans.
• Administers treatments/medications as prescribed by the physician.
• Demonstrates competency in invasive and non-invasive ventilator care.
• Demonstrates competency in Blood Gas Laboratory procedures.
• Provides patient and family education on medications, disease processes, treatments, and wellness strategies.
• Sets up, operates, and maintains medical gas delivery and airway humidification systems.
• Documents patient care activities using computer information management systems.
