Job summary

Discovery Behavioral Health is seeking a Diet Tech to support the dietary component of our program. Responsibilities include meal planning, grocery budgeting, and assisting with patient mealtimes and groups in Montverde, FL.

Requires a High School Diploma, food handling experience, and healthcare exposure. Driver's license, CPI, CPR/First Aid, and food safety certifications are required within specified timeframes. Part-time schedule on weekends; on-site work only.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Food handling experience required.
• Mental healthcare or behavioral healthcare experience required.
• Education or experience in dietary or nutrition sciences strongly preferred.
• Valid and unrestricted State Driver's License.
• Must obtain CPI certification within 90 days of hire.
• Must obtain CPR/AED and First Aid, plus Food Handling/Safety certification within 30 days of hire.
• Eating Disorder Division: minimum 2 years recovery if in recovery.

Responsibilities

• Maintains confidentiality of patient information and records.
• Assists in implementing individual patient treatment plans.
• Purchases all groceries for facility with dietary considerations and safety.
• Analyzes food service providers for quality at cost-effective prices.
• Advises patients on food choices and maintains dietary program.
• Prepares meals and snacks per dietary guidelines.
• Leads weekly dietary groups as scheduled; age-appropriate as applicable.
• Communicates effectively with staff to implement the dietary program.
• Complies with health codes, Joint Commission, HIPAA and licensing regulations.
• Maintains organized, safe environment and performs basic housekeeping.
• Conducts regular facility and grounds checks; reports safety concerns.
• Facilitates and leads daily groups as directed.
• Provides transportation services as needed (must be pre-qualified to drive a company vehicle).
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Eating Disorder Division: supervision during mealtimes; align with CFD model.
