Peraton is seeking a Part-time / On-Call Technical Trainer / Instructional Systems Designer (ISD) to support a DoD client. You will design and develop instructor-led and eLearning materials, including storyboards, graphics, assessments, and practical exercises, collaborating with SMEs for learning objectives.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years of instructional design with BS/BA or 6+ with MS/MA, expertise in Captivate and Storyline 360, and U.S.

• Minimum 6 years of hands‑on experience in instructional design, ILT development, and eLearning development.
• Expertise in using Adobe Captivate and Articulate Storyline 360 for course development.
• U.S. citizenship required and ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.

Responsabilidades

• Design and develop instructor‑led and Web-based training materials, including training plans, storyboards, graphics, assessments, and practical exercises.
• Collaborate with SMEs to translate client requirements into learning objectives and solutions.
• Involve all phases of course development: analysis, design, development, and delivery, including eLearning modules, instructor guides, and multimedia content.
• Apply adult learning principles to ensure content is effective and meets learner needs.
• Produce interactive course materials using graphic design and multimedia techniques to maximize engagement and retention.
• Ensure all deliverables meet Section 508 compliance and SCORM standards.
• Stay up-to-date with design tools and best practices to improve course materials.

Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Part-time / On-Call Technical Trainer / Instructional Systems Designer (ISD) to support our DoD customer, contributing to the design and development of engaging, interactive learning solutions that are both instructionally sound and visually captivating.

As the ideal candidate, you will have a keen eye for graphics, web-based training (WBT) design, thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, and bring fresh ideas to each project. You will collaborate with a talented team to craft innovative learning experiences that enhance the overall curriculum, ensuring that every deliverable supports both learner engagement and learning outcomes.

• Location: Remote
• This is a Part-time / On-Call position for as needed support, no weekly hour commitment.

Responsibilities will include:

• Design and develop both instructor-led and WBT materials, including training plans, storyboards, graphics, assessments, and practical exercises.
• Partner with subject matter experts (SMEs) to translate client business requirements into learning objectives and solutions.
• Be involved with all phases of course development, from analysis and design to development and delivery, including eLearning modules, instructor guides, job aids, and multimedia content.
• Apply adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies to ensure content is effective and meets learner needs.
• Use graphic design tools and multimedia techniques to produce interactive course materials that maximize learner engagement and retention.
• Ensure all deliverables meet Section 508 compliance standards.
• Ensure all WBT deliverables are SCORM compliant.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest design tools, technologies, and best practices to continuously improve course materials and learning experiences.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA

• Minimum of 6 years of hands‑on experience in:

  • Instructional design, with a portfolio that demonstrates strong technical and creative skills.
  • Experience in instructor‑led training development.
  • eLearning development.

• Expertise in using Adobe Captivate and Articulate Storyline 360 for course development.

• U.S. citizenship required.

• The ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with SCORM and Section 508 compliance.
• Proficiency with graphic design tools such as Adobe Illustrator, and Photoshop.
• Experience shooting professional videos and editing with tools such as Adobe Premiere.
• Familiarity with various multimedia platforms and techniques for producing engaging instructional content.
• Experience working closely with behavioral researcher and social science teams.
• Experience with AI tools used for training development.
• Knowledge of DoD Learning Management Systems like Blackboard or Moodle.
• Active Secret security clearance.

Target Salary Range

$104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
