Job summary

Telecare Corporation seeks an On-Call Rehab Activity Leader for our La Paz Gero-Psychiatric center in Paramount, CA. The role covers days with variable AM/PM/NOC shifts, and starts at $21.00 per hour with geographic differentials.

You will plan and facilitate rehabilitation activities for adults 55+ with mental health needs, in a supportive, therapeutic setting. Qualified candidates have at least 1 year of direct mental health service experience, HS diploma or GED, and current CPR/CPI/First Aid

Qualifications

• Direct care in mental health setting
• CPR, CPI and First Aid certification required or within 60 days
• Post-offer clearances and driving/insurance requirements may apply

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates Telecare mission, purpose, values and beliefs in interactions
• Provides safe and effective direct care per policies and standards
• Establishes therapeutic relationships and fosters hope and resilience
• Leads or co-leads therapeutic activity groups
• Attends shift reports and supports unit supervision
• Manages inventory and orders equipment for activity programs
• Maintains order and cleanliness of Activity Rooms
• Promotes self-help skills among members
• Completes incident reports per policy
• Notifies authorities of abuse as required by law
• Reviews and implements service plans for members
• Participates in multidisciplinary treatment planning
• Applies Pro-Act principles to manage aggression
• Observes and reports social and psychiatric behaviors
• Obeys confinement policies if inpatient; follows escalation training
• Duties may be updated by management
