Job summary

MITRE seeks a Part Time On-Call (PTOC) Physical Security Shift Leader for our Bedford, MA campus. This role supervises security personnel across shifts, oversees access control, intrusion detection, CCTV, and life safety systems, and serves as On-Scene Emergency Coordinator when needed.

Candidates should have 3 years of related experience with a high school diploma (or 2 years with an associate), hold an active Top Secret clearance, and be able to work rotating day and night shifts on site.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of related experience with a high school diploma or 2 years plus associate degree.
• Active Top Secret clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
• Must be onsite 4 days a week; able to work rotating shifts.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to supervise staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise, and direct all assigned security personnel per shift.
• Conduct turnover briefings and communicate priorities.
• Perform daily guard mount and ensure readiness.
• Provide coaching and performance feedback to officers and SOCOs.
• Direct day-to-day security operations to protect people and assets.
• Coordinate with emergency responders during incidents.
