Job summary

Oregon State University is seeking three part-time Ocean Mooring Student Technical Assistants to join the CEOAS team in Corvallis. You will work with oceanographers and technicians to assemble, test, and maintain mooring platforms and instruments used in the OOIs.

Ideal candidates are undergraduate STEM students with some research or field experience and a willingness to work hands-on with mechanical/electrical systems.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate STEM student enrolled at the university.
• Academic standing requirements apply; not eligible if suspended.
• 12 credit hours per term for undergrad; 12 for international students.

Responsibilities

• Technical implementation of mooring assembly, science instrumentation and interfaces: work with scientists and engineers to assemble, test, and integrate systems.
• Technical implementation of mooring disassembly and refurbishment: disassemble and refurbish mechanical, electrical, and data systems for remote platforms.
• Assist in mobilizing for oceanographic field operations.
