Job summary

Oregon State University (OSU) seeks a part-time Student Researcher for the CEOAS department to assist with underwater acoustics and remote sensing experiments, gaining hands-on experience in ocean measurement technologies. Up to 24 hours per week, with occasional fieldwork.

Responsibilities include performing lab experiments, analyzing data, producing reports, and writing instrument software using Matlab and other languages. May deploy field instruments and collect data.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a school and pursuing a program.
• Proficiency in Matlab and at least one other programming language.
• Fundamental understanding of active acoustic sonar principles.
• Willingness to perform occasional fieldwork outdoors.

Responsibilities

• Perform lab experiments, analyze data, and write instrument software using Matlab.
• Generate documentation of lab procedures and assist with data collection in the field.
