Job summary

Family of Kidz on Long Island seeks an NYS Certified Teaching Assistant for a part-time role during the school calendar with hours Monday–Friday during school hours. Compensation ranges from $25 to $27 per hour and varies by experience and certification.

Responsibilities include supporting teachers, preparing materials, and assisting with data collection and behavior plans. Opportunities for professional development are noted.

Qualifications

• Teaching Assistant Certification: Level I/II/III or Pre-Professional is required or preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent; Associates preferred.
• Experience with children on the Autism Spectrum is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional services and support to students under a certified teacher.
• Help prepare teaching materials and environment to support instruction.
• Familiarity with basic behavior intervention strategies and principles.
• Maintain data collection to ensure success of academic and behavioral plans.
• Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with children and staff.
• Possibility of assisting in managing behaviors and crisis intervention.
• Participate in team meetings and other relevant activities.
