Job summary

Rome City School District is seeking a NYS certified teacher to serve as a Teacher Tutor at Rome Free Academy's Instructional Support Center. The position supports students in grades 7-12 with math or science emphasis.

The role is part-time, Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. during the school year, delivering individualized and small-group instruction and collaborating with teachers and staff to promote student learning and progress.

Qualifications

• Must hold a New York State Teaching Certification.
• Certification in Math and/or Science preferred.
• Strong content knowledge and ability to support students across disciplines.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic tutoring and instructional support to students in grades 7-12.
• Deliver one-on-one and small-group instruction tailored to student needs.
• Support students across multiple academic subjects.
• Reinforce classroom instruction and assist with assignments, projects, and exam prep.
• Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and support staff to address student learning needs.
• Foster a positive, supportive, engaging learning environment.
• Monitor student progress and communicate with staff.
