Job summary

San Dieguito Union High School District Nutrition Services in Encinitas is seeking a Production Assistant to perform a full range of food preparation tasks in a school kitchen, including cooking and packaging for service. You may substitute as needed when the supervisor is absent.

Requirements include three years of related experience or college coursework, a high school diploma, and a current food safety manager certification.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience preparing or assisting in preparing foods in large quantities or college coursework in nutrition, food preparation, quantity cooking and food service sanitation.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Current food safety manager certification required and must be submitted at time of application.
• Pre-employment testing to demonstrate minimum qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, bake and package food for high school or middle school kitchens and food service areas.
• Assist or substitute as assigned in the absence of the supervisor.
