Blackhawk Technical College is seeking Part-time Nursing Instructors to support the Associate Degree of Nursing Program and clinical instruction. Class assignments and locations may vary from term to term, and the instructor may be asked to teach at various clinical sites within the district.

Instructors provide instruction for assigned classes with accountability to the program; i.e., classroom, laboratory and clinical.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing; enrolled in a Nursing Graduate Program or graduates with related clinical education.
• Two years (4,000 hours) of RN work experience.
• Wisconsin RN license in good standing by start date.
• AHA Health Care Provider CPR certification.
• Meet Wisconsin Technical College System Faculty Quality Assurance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction for assigned classes, with accountability to entire program; i.e., classroom, laboratory and clinical.
• Provide on-site office hours during clinical teaching times, and classroom and laboratory times.
• Remain current with industry needs to assure graduate outcomes that meet the workplace expectations.
• Engage in ongoing student learning assessment to determine effectiveness of instruction and curriculum.
• Create a classroom/lab environment that is respectful of diversity and demonstrates a commitment to multiculturalism.
• Maintain accurate student records and reports as requested by administrative offices, and according to state regulations.
• Identify students needing assistance and refer students to Student Services; collaborate with Student Services and Learning Resources staff.
• Remain current on developments in the teaching field so that instruction is delivered for a variety of learning styles, uses the latest supportive technology and utilizes alternative delivery methods.
• Maintain course curriculum following state guidelines.
• Prepare and update course syllabi (using BTC guidelines) for each course taught, and work cooperatively with members of other departments and programs in coordinating courses.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and
  • Currently enrolled in a Nursing Graduate Program or
  • Completed graduate level coursework in clinical best practice or
  • Have other non-graduate level clinical education or clinical best practices or
  • Hold National Certification in the speciality they will be providing clinical instruction.
• Two (2) years (4,000 hours) of related work experiece as a registered nurse.
• Current or eligible for Wisconsin license to practice as an R.N. Must be licensed to practice as an R.N. in Wisconsin by the employment start date. License must be unencumbered.
• Remain current with American Heart Association Health Care Provider CPR certification.
• Meet Wisconsin Technical College System requirements through the Faculty Quality Assurance System.
