WCTC Corporate Training Center in Wisconsin invites applications for an adjunct Nursing Assistant Instructor. Under the supervision of the Associate Dean of Health, you will provide on-site instruction for entry-level nursing assistant courses and maintain program documentation.

Pay varies by course; part-time schedule may include days/evenings/weekends. Requires Wisconsin RN license with 2 years nursing experience, including long-term care, and teaching experience.

Responsibilities

  • Distribute course competencies, policies, and grading procedures to students at course start.
  • Deliver instruction using active learning methods for diverse learners.
  • Guide students regarding course progress and academic concerns.
  • Collaborate with library, media, IT and other services to integrate instructional activities.
  • Review and revise delivery methods and materials based on assessments and evaluations.

Description

Under the direct supervision of the Associate Dean of Health, provide instruction for Nursing Assistant courses and maintain course documentation and related Nursing Assistant Program communication.

Pay will vary by course being taught.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide on-site instruction in the areas of entry level care giving for Nursing Assistants.
  • Plan, select, prepare and implement appropriate active learning activities to meet all course competencies.
  • Prepare, and/or select and utilize reliable and valid formative and summative in‑class assessment tools/techniques to measure students' achievement of course competencies.
  • Distribute, in written form, course competencies, performance criteria, established district approved grading procedures and standards, attendance and class policies/procedures, and other necessary information to students at the beginning of the course.
  • Deliver instruction using active learning methods which accommodate different learning styles.
  • Provide guidance and advice to students regarding course progress, program areas, or other academic concerns.
  • Review and revise as necessary delivery methods, instructional materials, learning activities, and assessment tools based on pre‑assessment, during class assessment, development teams, program self‑study and evaluation terms.
  • Work collaboratively with other colleges and staff members within your program and ancillary services such as library, media, bookstore, information technology services to integrate instructional activities and materials.
Minimum Qualifications

Education and Work Experience Requirements
  • Must meet State and Federal certification requirements for a Nursing Assistant Instructor (RN licensed to practice in Wisconsin, who has at least 2 years of experience working as a registered nurse, of which at least one year of experience shall be providing care in a nursing home or long‑term care facility).
  • Must be a Registered Nurse with an active nursing license from the State of Wisconsin.
  • Two years of teaching experience (include teaching of Nursing Assistant courses) preferred.
  • Two years recent (within the past five years) work experience in Home Health Care, or other health care settings which utilizes Nursing Assistants.
Additional Requirements

NOTE: This position will require the incumbent to be present at clinical site. Current clinical site does require that all persons are fully vaccinated. Proof of vaccination will be required.

Hours

This is an adjunct position and is not benefit eligible. Schedule and class load will vary. Hours may include days, evenings and/or weekends. Must be able to work in the summer as well as the spring and fall semesters.
