Job summary

Blackhawk Technical College is seeking part-time Nursing Instructors to support the Associate Degree in Nursing program. Instructors may teach at various clinical sites within the district and must deliver classroom, lab, and clinical instruction.

The role requires RN licensure in Wisconsin, CPR certification, and adherence to state and BTC guidelines. Work includes coordinating syllabi and maintaining student records, with term-to-term assignment variation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Nursing.
• Currently enrolled in a Nursing Graduate Program or completed graduate level coursework in clinical best practice or have other non-graduate level clinical education.
• Two (2) years (4,000 hours) of related work experience as a registered nurse.
• Current or eligible Wisconsin RN license to practice as an RN by start date (unencumbered).
• American Heart Association Health Care Provider CPR certification must be current.
• Meet Wisconsin Technical College System requirements through the Faculty Quality Assurance System.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction for assigned classes, with accountability to entire program; i.e., classroom, laboratory and clinical.
• Provide on-site office hours during clinical teaching times, and classroom and laboratory times.
• Remain current with industry needs to assure graduate outcomes that meet workplace expectations.
• Engage in ongoing student learning assessment to determine effectiveness of instruction and curriculum.
• Create a classroom/lab environment respectful of diversity and committed to multiculturalism.
• Maintain accurate student records and reports as requested by administrative offices and state regulations.
• Identify students needing assistance and refer them to Student Services; collaborate with Student Services and Learning Resources staff.
• Remain current on developments in the teaching field to deliver instruction for various learning styles and with latest technology.
• Maintain course curriculum following state guidelines.
• Prepare and update course syllabi (BTC guidelines) for each course taught, coordinating with other departments.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and
  • Currently enrolled in a Nursing Graduate Program or
  • Completed graduate level coursework in clinical best practice or
  • Have other non-graduate level clinical education or clinical best practices or
  • Hold National Certification in the speciality they will be providing clinical instruction.
• Two (2) years (4,000 hours) of related work experiece as a registered nurse.
• Current or eligible for Wisconsin license to practice as an R.N. Must be licensed to practice as an R.N. in Wisconsin by the employment start date.License must be unencumbered.
• Remain current with American Heart Association Health Care Provider CPR certification.
• Meet Wisconsin Technical College System requirements through the Faculty Quality Assurance System.
