Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited school of nursing.
• RN license issued by the State of Kansas or a multi-state RN license.
• One year of relevant patient care experience.
• Formal degree requirements aligned with accreditation and program standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide ongoing feedback on patient care and clinical assignments to support student learning.
• Guide students in clinical care areas, including hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare settings.
• Collaborate with nursing faculty to ensure alignment with program objectives.
• Foster a learning environment that develops students’ critical thinking, analytical skills, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Collaborate with nursing faculty to prepare for clinical, lab, and simulation instruction.
• Create a clinical learning environment conducive to effective learning within resource limits.
• Apply and enforce student-related policies and standards in accordance with KUMC policies, including addressing issues related to student conduct, performance, and professionalism.
• Utilize institutional technology systems, including learning management systems, e-mail platforms, and office software, to support instructions, communication, grading, and documentation.
• Evaluate student progress using established program and School of Nursing methods, including clinical performance evaluations, competency checklist, direct observation, and adherence to course grading criteria and clinical objectives.
• Maintain records in accordance with administrative guidelines and legal standards to support compliance and program requirements.
• Attend all required orientations.
• Attend ALL clinical and lab classes.
