Job summary

UNC Health in North Carolina seeks a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform and teach diagnostic procedures, manage radiopharmaceuticals, operate advanced equipment, and analyze data under physician supervision.

The role requires completing an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program, ARRT/NMTCB certification or registry-eligibility, and a valid BLS. Part-time, onsite with daytime shifts offering competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
ARRT/NMTCB certification or registry eligible with 1-year to complete.
BLS for Healthcare Provider certification.

Responsibilities

Administer radiopharmaceuticals and document dose administration and routing.
Explain exam to patient and obtain informed consent; input patient info for studies and charges.
Evaluate requisitions, perform patient assessment, and ensure pregnancy status when required.
May perform PET imaging duties and lead technologist responsibilities.
Handle radiopharmaceuticals per Radiation Safety guidelines and NRC rules.
Verify dosage, perform quality control, and record in dose logs.
Set up acquisitions, ensure patient comfort and safety, analyze images for accuracy.
Use RIS/CIS/SMS/PACS for documentation and arrange patient transport as needed.
