Job summary

University of Washington Continuum College is seeking a part-time co-instructor for the non-credit Nonprofit Management certificate program. Courses run online with 3 CEUs each, typically 10 weeks, meeting Wednesdays 6-9pm PST.

Courses are delivered via Zoom and instructors are Academic Staff working on schedule-based content. Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis; priority consideration for applications received by Nov 15, 2026.

Qualifications

• Minimum seven years of professional experience managing nonprofit organizations including leading and managing people, developing organizational strategies, or building effective programs.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
• Ability and desire to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• Willingness to teach with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards for adult learners.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

Responsibilities

• Teach to a set curriculum plan with clear learning outcomes and competencies.
• Customize course content and slides to align with learning objectives; personalize the curriculum.
• Prepare a course syllabus in advance of the start date.
• Ensure lesson plans and materials are relevant and current.
• Teach all class sessions at scheduled times and engage students.
• Respond to inquiries and provide timely feedback on assignments.
• Coordinate with instructors and assistants to maintain curriculum continuity.
• Observe FERPA, HIPAA and other privacy policies.
